REFLECT: How did today's reading impact you?
"The search for the purpose of life has puzzled people for thousands of years. Typically, we start at the wrong point -- ourselves Contrary to what many popular books, movies, and seminars tell me, I won't discover life's meaning by looking within myself. There are two options to finding the meaning and purpose of life:
  1. Speculation - Mystical approach, Self Help Approach, Philosophical approach. Why don't these approaches work?
  2. Revelation - God has revealed our purpose in life through His word, the Bible." 
       "It's in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for.  
   Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, He had his eye on us, 
   had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose He is working out in 
   everything and everyone." (Ephesians 1:11 - The Message paraphrase)
PRAYER:
Gracious Father, thank You for bringing me on this journey. Help me to realize that building my life around me (my personal fulfillment, career, happiness) will only lead to a meaningless life. I was made by You, and for You, and I desire to discover my purpose in You. Amen"
FOR MY CONSIDERATION:
   In spite of all the advertising around me, how can I remind myself that life is really about living for God, not for me?
