POINT TO PONDER: Living with purpose is the only way to really live.
REFLECT: How did today's reading impact you?
Living on purpose is the only way to really live. Everything else is just existing.
"David served God's purpose in his generation." (Acts 13:36a)

"Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you
       do them." (John 13:17 NIV)

There are many "good" things you can do with your life, but God's purposes are the five essentials you must do. Unfortunately, it's easy to get distracted and forget what is most important. To prevent this, you develop a purpose statement for your life, and then review it regularly. What is a Life Purpose Statement?
  • It's a statement that summarizes God's purposes for your life.
  • IN your own words, you affirm your commitment to God's purposes for your life. A purpose statement is not a list of goals. Goals are temporary, purposes are eternal.
  • It's a statement that points the directio of your life..
  • A life purpose statement not only spells out what you intend to do with your time, life, and money, but also implies what you aren't going to do.
  • It's a statement that defines success for you.
  • It states what you think is important, not what others tell you is important.
  • It's a statement that clarifies your roles.
  • As you go through different stages of life, your roles will change. But your porposes don't. We will align our roles within His purposes.
  • It's a statement taht expresses your shape.
  • It reflects the unique ways that God has wired you.

LIFE'S FIVE GREATEST QUESTIONS. The reason we pass on what we learn is for the glory of God, and the growth of His kingdom. Not only does God want us to live out His purposes (more like Christ), but He also wants us to help others to do the same (more to Christ). That is what purpose-driven living is all about. Regardless of your age, the rest of your life can be the best of your life, and you can start living on purpose today.
  • What will be the center of my life?
  • Who are you going to live for? What are you going to build your life around? When God's at the cnter of your life, you worship. When He's not, you worry.
  • What will be the character of my life?
  • What kind of person will you be? God is far more interested in what you are than what you do. Remember, Discipleship is a life-long process.
  • What will be the contribution of my life
  • What will be your ministry in the body of Christ? Knowing your combination of spiritual gifts, heart, abilities, personality, and experiences, what would be your best role in the family of God? Is there a specific group in the Body that I am shaped to serve?
  • What will be the communication of my life?
  • What is my mission? What life lessons and godly passions has God painted in the tapestry of my life? Of course, our lives must support and validate teh message we communicate.
  • What will be the community of my life?
  • How will you demonstrate your commitment to other believers and connection to the family of God? The more you grow in CHrist, the more you'll love His body, and want to sacrifice for it.

In addition to writing a detailed life purpose statement, it is also helpful to have a shorter statement or slogan that summarizes the five purposes for your life that's memorable and inspires you. Here's one ...
More To Christ, More Like Christ, For His Glory.
PRAYER:
"Gracious Father, I commit the rest of my life to knowing and doing Your purposes in my generation.. wherever You lead. I thank You for Your amazing Love which casts out my fear and motivates me to give my life over to You. Amen
