OUR CORE VALUES/GUIDING PRINCIPLES
We are committed to excellence in promoting our core values. These are the ideals that define our emphases and guide all of our decisions and actions.
- Celebration of God
- Worship that is reflective, celebrative, spontaneous, creative (in Lord's Supper and in small groups). (John 4:23-24, I Cor 11:17-34, 14:26-32
- Relationship with God
- Relationship to God that is characterized by our glorifying Him (reflecting His character), praising Him, pleasing Him, submitting to His Lordship. (Eph 3:20-22, Ps 57:5, Ps 108:5, I Cor 10:13, Gal 6:14, Phil 2:11, 4:10, Col 2:26-27, Jude 1:25)
- Ongoing, reproducing leadership
- Leadership that is Godly, strong, confident, flexible, willing to act, visionary, and reproducing. Leadership should foster excellence by modeling the vision and values of the church with conviction. (Acts 20:17-35, I Tim 3:1-13, Titus 1:5-9)
- Scriptural teaching
- Bible Teaching that is uncompromisingly scriptural, relevant and life changing (II Tim 3:16, II Tim 3:16, Ps 40:9, Rom 10:15, Col 1:28, Acts 20:28-30
- Small groups
- Small home groups where individuals can grow together toward God in an informal, relaxed, nurturing environment. Primary ministry takes place as individuals minister to, pray for and support one another. (Acts 2:46, 5:42, 16:13, 20:20, Ro 16:5, Col 4:15)
- Respect and unity
- Fostering unity & respect for members in the local body, and other assemblies and evangelical churches as a whole. (I Cor 12:12-13, Eph 4:3, 13)
- Outreach to our generation
- Evangelism (outreach) that is focused, deliberate, creative, relevant, relational, radical, integral, but not watered down or shallow. (Matt 28:18-20, I Cor 9:19-23)
- Accountability
- Personal genuine holiness which includes personal accountability and development of the fruit of the Spirit. (I Pet 1:15-16, Gal 5:16-26)
- Dependence on God
- Prayer that expresses real dependence on God. (Matt 6:5-14, 21:22, Rom 12:12, Eph 6:18, Phil 4:6, I Tim 2:1)
- Spiritual Gift Development
- Spiritual gift development which includes feedback and empowering for service. (I Cor 12:1, Rom 1:11, I Cor 7:7, 12:7-11, 28-30, Rom 12:6-8, Eph 4:7-12, II Tim 1:6, I Peter 4:10, Eph 2:19-20)
